Miguel Gómez
Nació en San José, Costa Rica en 1982; se gradua de Los Angeles Film School y obtiene el título en 3 especialidades: Cinematografia, Dirección y Diseño de Arte. Despues de graduarse de lafs comienza a trabajar para Arclight Films, una companía de distribución establecida en Londres, Los Angeles y New York, combinando así sus estudios en la ucla obteniendo dos especialidades: Film y Post Producción.
En el 2008 dirigió la multiaclamada película El cielo rojo, que cambia Ia historia del cine en Costa Rica, con El cielo rojo, obtuvo el apoyo de importantes organizaciones internacionales como Naciones Unidas, fundacine y cinergia. Su segundo largometraje El sanatorio, en 2010 logró ser una de las películas de terror más vistas en Costa Rica, asimismo obtuvo en Mórbido, Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico y de Terror ese mismo año el Premio del Público La Calavera Dorada.
Born in San José, Costa Rica, in 1982, he graduated from the Los Angeles Film School , where he got his degree with three specialties: Cinematography, Direction and Art Design. After graduating from LAFTS, he worked for Arclight Films, a distribution company with offices in London, Los Angeles and New York, which allowed him to combine work with studies at UCLA, where he specialized in both Film and Post Production.
In 2008, he directed the acclaimed film El cielo rojo, which changed the history of film in Costa Rica; with Red Sky, he obtained the support of important international organizations, such as the United Nations, fundacine and sinergia. A multidisciplinary group that investigates the paranormal goes to an apartment where all sorts of strange things are happening: telephone calls by some silent being, objects that move by themselves, strange sounds of unknown origin and lamps that blow up for no apparent reason. The group decides to scientifically investigate the facts, using the most advanced technical means they have, but little by little, the mysterious manifestations will become more and more violent.

Human disbelieve is a vampire’s greatest power. Actor, director y guionista Paul Naschy (cuyo nombre real era Jacinto Molina Álvarez, 1934 –2009) trabajó principalmente en el género de terror, donde llegó a ser considerado un ícono. Sus representaciones de varias figuras clásicas de terror —el hombre lobo, un jorobado, el conde Drácula, una momia— le han ganado reconocimiento como el Lon Chaney español. Su papel más famoso fue interpretar a un hombre lobo torturado, conocido como Waldemar Daninsky, a quien representó en doce ocasiones distintas.
Actor, director and scriptwriter Paul Naschy (born Jacinto Molina Álvarez, 1934 – 2009) worked primarily in the horror genre, where he achieved iconic status. His portrayals of numerous classic horror figures –the werewolf, a hunchback, Count Dracula, a mummy – have earned him recognition as the Spanish Lon Chaney. His most famous interpretation was the tortured werewolf known as Waldemar Daninsky, whom he played twelve different times.

Después de ser rechazada por varias escuelas de actuación, la aspirante a actriz Stella es aceptada en la misteriosa Escuela Privada “Matteusz Gdula”. Trabaja mucho en sus habilidades, pero su falta de talento provoca burlas de sus compañeros de clase. La única persona que se comporta amigable es Cecile, una niña carismática que nunca parece salir de la escuela. Pronto, Stella comienza a ver cosas extrañas: una niña desaparece, se escuchan extraños sonidos detrás de puertas cerradas, y la gente se comporta de forma extraña cuando pregunta acerca del ala vieja de la escuela, que está detrás de una puerta cerrada. Cecile le cuenta sobre Gdula, el misterioso fundador de la escuela, quien en los setenta inventó un dudoso método de actuación que haría que todo actor “brillara”. Pero cuando varios alumnos murieron durante sus sesiones, Gdula se suicidó y su método fue prohibido. Todo parece indicar que alguien todavía usa el ala antigua de la escuela para practicar este extraño método. Y Stella quiere participar, cueste lo que cueste. Incluso si causa su muerte…
After being rejected by several drama schools, wanna-be actress Stella gets accepted at the mysterious “Matteusz Gdula” Private Acting School. She works very hard on her skills, but her lack of talent gives her fellow students enough reasons to make fun of her. The only person who befriends her is Cecile, a charismatic girl who never seems to leave the school. Soon Stella witnesses strange things: a girl disappears, weird noises can be heard behind a locked door and people start to behave oddly when she asks about the old wing to which the locked door leads. Cecile tells her about Gdula, the mysterious founder of the school, who back in the 70s invented a very questionable acting method that would make every actor “shine.” But when several students died during his sessions, Gdula committed suicide and his method was banned. Everything points to the fact that someone still uses the old wing of the school to practice this bizarre method. And Stella wants to participate at all costs. Even if it could kill her …

Andreas Marschall
Comenzó su carrera como artista de cómics para Heavy Metal y U Comix, entre otros. Diseñó carteles de películas, trabajó en ilustraciones de libros, y creó más de 120 portadas de discos. A principios de los noventa, Andreas filmó su primer video musical. Desde entonces, ha dirigido más de 60 videoclips (para grupos como Kreator, Moonspell, Extrabreit y Guano Apes), incluyendo comerciales y videos industriales. En la misma época, comenzó a escribir guiones y filmó varios cortometrajes. En los primeros años de la misma década, dirigió el primer musical de horror alemán, Comas alucinantes (1991) con el grupo de rock Kreator. Este largometraje salió en video en los Estados Unidos, Japón, la Gran Bretaña y Alemania, entre otros países.
Hacia finales de los noventa, había comenzado a trabajar como editor de películas como Track (1999) de la cual también fue codirector, Tan lejos como me lleven los pies, (2001) y varias series de televisión. En 2003, dirigió el corto El proceso de Kali, y poco tiempo después realizó su debut como director con Lágrimas de Kali (2004).
He started his career as a comic artist for Heavy Metal and U Comix, among others. He designed film posters, worked for book illustrations and created more than 120 LP sleeves. In the early 90’s, Andreas shot his first music video. Since then, he has directed more than 60 video clips (for bands like Kreator, Moonspell, Extrabreit, Guano Apes), including advertising and industry films. He soon started to write screenplays and shot several short films. At the beginning of the 90’s, he directed the first ever German horror musical, Hallucintative Comas (1991) with the rock group Kreator. This feature-length video was released in the US, Japan, Great Britain and Germany, among other countries. By the end of that decade, he had started to work as an editor on films like Track (1999) also co-director, Soweit die Füsse tragen (2001), and several television series. In 2003, he directed the short film The Kali Process, and soon after, with Tears of Kali (2004), made his debut as a feature film director.

Adrián García Bogliano
Nació en Madrid, España, criado en la ciudad de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Adrián creció entre la cinefilia de sus padres y su gusto por el cine más violento y salvaje de los años 70 y 80. Se ha mantenido en el cine independiente de género en la Argentina durante casi una década; ha realizado ocho películas, dentro de ellas una coproducción con México y la primera película de terror en Costa Rica. En el 2010, Adrián recibió el apoyo del Instituto de Cine de Argentina para filmar Sudor Frío y Penumbra.
Born in Madrid, Spain, and raised in the city of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Adrián grew up among his parents´ love of film and his enjoyment of the most violent and savage films of the 70’s and 80’s. He has been a fixture of independent genre film in Argentina for almost a decade, and has made eight films, including a co-production with Mexico, and Costa Rica’s first horror film. In 2010, Adrián received the support of the Instituto de Cine de Argentina to make Sudor Frío and Penumbra.
Ramiro Garcia Bogliano
Durante su adolescencia en Madrid, Ramiro trabajó en actividades vinculadas con el cine de violencia y horror, editando fanzines, organizando muestras de cine, dirigiendo programas de televisión sobre el cine de género y realizando cortometrajes under. Estudió en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de Los Baños en Cuba, donde realizó el cortometraje Policlínico Miserable como su tesis y fue telonero del estreno mundial de La casa de los 1000 cadáveres (2003), en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata. Penumbra es la tercera película que dirige con su hermano Adrián.
During his teenage years in Madrid, Ramiro worked at activities related to horror and violence film, editing fanzines, organizing film festivals, directing television shows on genre film and making under short films. He studied at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de Los Baños in Cuba, where he made the short film Miserable Polyclinic as a thesis project, and opened for the world premiere House of 100 Corpses (2003), at the Mar de la Plata International Film Festival. Penumbra is the third film he directs with his brother Adrián.

André Øvredal
